10 Halloween Makeup Ideas for Adults

Halloween might not be taking the form of big parties and nights out this year, but that doesn’t mean you still can’t celebrate. Dressing up can be the most fun part but no outfit is complete without makeup to match. We’ve put together some spooky outfit ideas paired up with makeup looks to complement your outfit and to get you Insta ready.

1. CLOWN

Whether you’re inspired by Stephen King or the circus, a clown look is a reliable choice guaranteed to freak. For your look, you can pick up a pot of our Clown White face paint and follow our basic Sparkle Clown face paint tutorial to get you started. You can go even further with red glitter to jazz it up, or some trickling blood for something more sinister.

2. CORALINE

An icon of the horror world, a Coraline costume is one that will surely disturb and delight! Use Gel Blood to create a ghoulish effect around the eye. Then draw a gigantic button over it, using Black for the main circle and highlight with a bit of White. Add in a strong lip, and you’ll have your friends in stitches when they see you!

3. ZOMBIE

Breathe life back into the undead by donning your best rags and following our Zombie face paint tutorial. You’ll need a bit of time for this, but the detail absolutely pays off. You’ll need an eye pencil to map out the pattern on your face, before filling in with Classic Bright Pink, Classic Bright Yellow and Classic White. The detail is added with a fine brush and Classic Black for a striking pop art look!

4. POP ART

If you want a look straight out of an Andy Warhol, then try a pop-art look. Follow along with our Pop Art Babe face paint tutorial by using Classic Black and a fine brush, draw around the prominent places of the face to define your structure. Any line you make in black, draw a slightly smaller one next to it in Classic White. Use Bright Yellow on the eyelids and Classic White to create the iconic dots across your cheeks. Finish off with the teardrops in Classic Sky Blue and a Classic Red lip. You can find all these colours in our Mini Start Kit Box! Pair this look with a cute 50’s outfit and you’ll be a work of art!

Skip the goatee and add a strong black lip and create a bit of evil contouring by blending Classic Black into the red underneath your cheekbones. The devil’s in the details!
