Although Halloween might look a little different this year, it’s still a chance to have fun and create with the whole family. Why not have a virtual party to share your creations and spooky looks over Zoom, or take plenty of pictures for the family album. We’ve put together some of our favourite Halloween Make and Create Videos to give you some spine-chilling inspiration!

HALLOWEEN TREATS

One of the best parts of any celebration is the food, and Halloween is no exception. Let your creativity run wild and spend a little extra time in the kitchen to create some treats that not only taste delicious but look spectacular!

MINI EYEBALL CAKES

These frighteningly delicious treats will be a hit with the kids both to make and eat! You'll need sponge cake, food colouring frosting, a couple of piping bags and chocolate candies!

PUMPKIN CUPCAKES

There’s nothing better than getting messy in the kitchen with your family and these simple pumpkin cupcakes make a striking centrepiece that all the kids will love! You’ll need cupcakes (shop-bought if you’re short on time!) buttercream, jam, fondant icing and food colouring.

BLOOD COOKIES

These tasty cookies couldn’t be easier to create, yet look spookily realistic as part of your Halloween spread! You’ll need a large egg white, icing sugar, glycerine, red food gel, plain cookies, a couple of piping bags and a steady hand!

CREATIVE COSTUMES

You don’t need to spend a lot to create some inventive costumes - sometimes the best looks are made from things you’ll find around the house such as old T-shirts! Here are a few looks we suggest you try this Halloween…

BAT COSTUME

Broken umbrella? Don’t throw it away as we have a simple way to turn it into a brilliant bat costume! All you need is an umbrella, sharp scissors, a little bit of black electrical tape and some padding (cotton wool is ideal). A costume idea you can upcycle without even leaving the house? Sounds spooktacular!

PIRATE HAT

Not feeling like a spooky costume this year? No problem! Your can craft a costume for whatever character they want, how about a fearsome pirate that rules the seas? All you will need is an old hat, a red feather, a gold rosette and a hot glue gun!

SKELETON COSTUME

We’ve all been there - suddenly you glance at the calendar and realise you’ve got no time to knock up a Halloween costume for your little one. We’ve got a great last-minute look - a spooky skeleton T-Shirt! All you need is an old black T-shirt (or go colourful if you wish), a white T-shirt and a sharp pair of scissors. Simple, yet effortlessly spooky - especially when you team it with our Skeleton face paint look.

SIMPLE DECORATIONS TO MAKE AT HOME

Decorating your house for Halloween can be as simple or all-out as you wish! Whether you choose to decorate the inside of your abode or transform the outside into a haunted house, we’ve chosen a couple of ideas that you can make in under an hour but will inspire plenty of spooky atmosphere this October.

GLOWING CAT EYES

There’s nothing creepier than looking into the dark garden… and spying a pair of gleaming eyes looking back at you! Black cats are a witch’s best friend so why not turn down the lights this Halloween and create these cat-eye decorations? All you need is some black card, scissors, sticky tape and some LED safety lights (battery ones are perfect as you can pop them anywhere).

SHADOW BAT DECORATIONS

Cast spooky bat shadows all over the walls in no time at all! The best part about it is - all you will need is some black card, a pencil and some scissors to create the bat shapes! Tape these spooky shapes to the inside of your living room lamp shade and watch the bats dance across the walls!

WITCH LEG DECORATIONS

Why not make your house the talk of the neighbourhood by hanging these fabulous witches legs outside? All you need to create these wickedly witchy legs is some old stripey tights, an umbrella and a few crafty bits you should have around the house. We love the thought of them hanging from a tree, swaying as people walk past!

TRANSFORM THE FAMILY WITH FACE PAINT

Halloween at home is the perfect chance to take some photos to share with friends and family, so why not get creative with face paint? Sometimes the most striking looks are the most simple, and our face paints are all skin-friendly and washable with water - meaning less mess to clean up after! Here’s a couple of our favourite looks...

CAT ZOMBIE

To create this frightening feline look, all you’ll need is our Brush Pen Halloween Pack, with the black and white mixed together to create the grey. Make sure to draw the outline of how you want your undead cat to look first. Use the White Brush Pen to highlight the fur, and add in the orange to create scars and blood drips from the fangs.

SPIDER GIRL

Using just three spooky colours from the Halloween Face Paint Kit you can bring this Spider Girl to life! Start by sponging on the Purple, then take the Black to paint on the spider webs and finish by using White for highlights! Pair this face paint with an all black outfit and your little ones will be ready to start spinning their webs!

SUGAR SKULL

For a ghastly look that will chill you to the bone, have a go at this Sugar Skull face paint design using the colourful Ultimate Party Pack! Start off with a white base, adding black circles around the eyes, a diamond on the nose, flourish on the forehead and stitches across the mouth. Then get creative and use your favourite colours to decorate your Sugar Skull with swirls and tear drops!
